Stephanie Kurrus
Therapist
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and trained in EMDR. Since beginning my career in 2013, I have had the opportunity to work with children, teens, and adults, as well as couples and families, supporting clients through a wide range of life challenges.
I am passionate about helping clients navigate difficult experiences, better understand their emotions, build confidence, and develop a renewed sense of hope. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel comfortable being yourself, feel heard and understood, and have the freedom to explore what is going on beneath the surface.
I enjoy using creative, age-appropriate, and client-centered approaches to make therapy engaging and meaningful. Together, we can explore your goals, identify patterns that may be getting in the way, and develop practical tools you can use in everyday life. I take a holistic approach to therapy and believe that meaningful change involves caring for the whole person—emotionally, relationally, mentally, and, when desired, spiritually.
I have a special interest in working with clients experiencing:
- ✨ Stress and emotional regulation
- ✨ Trauma and difficult life experiences
- ✨ Anxiety
- ✨ Depression
- ✨ Relationship and family struggles
- ✨ Substance use & recovery
My hope is to help you feel empowered to understand yourself more deeply, work through what has been difficult, and move forward with greater confidence, hope, and a sense of direction.
Some details about me:
- If I had to eat one food for the rest of my life… it would be pickles! I can eat pickles with any meal, and I’m never afraid to try it in new ways.
- If I weren’t a therapist, I would make and sell handmade crafts, cookies, or cakes. I love to create and make things with my own hands.
- If I had to be an animal, I’d definitely be an owl. I am a night owl. I also have good hearing, and like some owls, I love fish.
